Come and say hello to FoSC at the Stourbridge Fair re-enactment at the Leper Chapel on 10th September
Sat 10 September from noon to 4 pm
Stalls and entertainments with a medieval flavour, organised by the Friends of the Leper Chapel, with support from Cambridge Past, Present & Future for Heritage Open Day Weekend – come at midday for the traditional opening of the fair or drop by through the afternoon.

Cam Cleanup 26th March 2011
You have to email to register your interest and then you will be sent full information on the whole day. Huge fun, make a difference to your local environment – or travel to Cambridge and join the fun … BBQ afterwards for all volunteers.

The Big Litter Pick event
Coldhams Common and the Leper Chapel Grounds.
Co-ordinated by Abbey Action
Come along anytime during the morning and join other
local people to give this wonderful open space an ‘autumn
clean’. Help remove some of the more long-term rubbish.
Wear good shoes or boots and come prepared for the
weather (listen to the forecast before!).
Meet at the entrance to the common near the Abbey Pool.
Refreshments provided.

Thank you to all who took part in the Common Clean Up, the AGM and to all our new members. Looking forward to continuing to maintaining the Common as a wonderful welcoming place for new friends, old visitors and increasing levels of biodiversity.

The next Stourbridge Common Clean Up is on Saturday 11th September 10am – midday – join the FoSC committee, friends and members of the public and help us to clean up the common … we will provide litter pickers, bin bags, gloves and so on.
Meet at 10am onwards on the Common side of the Green Dragon Bridge.
A happy day out and a real help to the local community and the wonderful biodiversity on the common.
Also on Saturday 11th September is the recently restarted Stourbridge Fair (the first was in 1211) this is held from 12 – 4pm at the beautiful Leper Chapel on the Newmarket Road side of the Common.
The next AGM is on Friday 10th September at 7.30pm in St Andrew’s Church Hall – it will be an informative evening and offers a chance to meet each other and hear more about the amazing biodiversity of this wonderful Cambridge common. Our guest speaker will be Keith Jordan of Abbey Action will be giving a talk entitled ‘History, Hops, and Hazel. As our AGM is the day before the Stourbridge Fair, Keith will be looking at how the history of the Fair and the Chapel is linked to the plants of the that still grow on Stourbridge Common and the plants that were traded at the Stourbridge Fair (hops in particular).
